      Comments:

These tires helped reduce the number of flats, had 4 in previous set of tires, only 1 with these. But after 8 months and 600 miles, the seams are splitting on both tires. I can see the kevlar. Definitely expected more life from them.

      Flats Away

      By Jay72

      About Me

      Comments:

I would like to say that I really admire these tires for their durability. I was initially a dedicated Continental 5000 user. I went through many sidewall flats and punctures, but I love the tire for the low roll resistance. However, my LBS recommended that I should gives these tires a try. I'm getting older and needed to soften up the ride a bit, but I didn't want to loose roll resistance. I purchased these tires and mounted them to my Williams Carbon clinchers and been riding happily ever since. I would like to add that they do not speed up as fast, but they are great up to speed and aid rolling mass. Some reviews have pointed out the tire was difficult to mount, but I didn't find that to be an issue with the folding bead. Actually, I minimally used the tire lever to mount them. It was easy enough to mount them with strong thumbs. Anyway, I hope that you find value in this review, and rest assure these tires are a definite buy if you seek a good long-term trainer and century dedicated tire.

      Hate flats? Get Armadillos!

      Comments:

I've got over 2000 miles on the Roubaix Armadillo elites on my Secteur expert disc with zero flats. They've taken on everything from broken glass to sharp stones & goat heads with no problems. The only thing you have to watch with the Armadillos is it has a very stiff bead & you must use lube, care & take your time when mounting them! They are not flat proof but in my experience you almost need to hit something metal to puncture these tires. Before changing to Armadillos I was getting a flat every 200 to 300 miles & that got old fast!

      Great all around tire

      About Me

      Comments:

I bought these because I wanted a set of tires that would be durable and flat resistant. I use these tires for training and have put 800 miles on them in the last two months and have had no flats or problems. The rolling resistance seems fine and the weight of the tires is quite light for what you are getting. With these tires you will feel a bit more of the road than you would on a different tire but that is expected because they are more durable. Overall I am very satisfied with them and after 800 miles there is very little noticeable wear to the tires.

      Perfect

      Comments:

I tried these on my Tricross switching from 32mm Borough CX - did very little off-road/dirt road riding in the last year and CXs were not available. Was concerned they would feel harsh going from 32mm (80psi) to 23/25mm (110psi) - was I wrong! The ride and feel is great. Comfortable and of course much quieter and zippier than the Boroughs. Should have switched years ago. The Armadillo protection is true to it's name. No flats despite taking glass and sharp shingle etc. It's great - just ride - no worries!

I have put close to 2K miles on these tires without a flat. They perform as advertised and I'll be putting another pair on my new wheel set.

I rode on these tires for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised. The bumps were less intrusive and the one thing that I noticed was that my hands didn't go to sleep. It was like riding in cadillac versus a volkswagon.

I have worn out three sets and have never had a flat, but have found glass and thorns imbeded in the tread when doing maintenance inspections. Great tire for long organized rides.
